Will it Blend?

Will it mix, will it blend? This guy finds out. An iPhone, no less, no more.
It’s just black dust!

This has gotta be seen. It’s funny that this is done with an iPhone, it has obviously catapulted this YouTube channel into the stratosphere, what with people seeing if it’s true. It is true! The iPhone is not indestructible. The blender used here is obviously an industrial high end type and will chew plastic with ease. This is so good that I had to subscribe, so I can check out all the things that get blended.

This video was added 2 days ago. It’s got almost 700,000 views in that time and counting by the second. There is an iPod one which has over 3 million views so this one is gonna top the YouTube charts I reckon. It will be old news soon. Sometime next week!

Anyway it just goes to show our fascination for technology and also our appetite for destruction.

Now serving…..

I’ll end this with my always a1 apple advice! Don’t buy an iPhone, yet. It will only get better, cheaper, bigger (storage), better…..

The remains of the iPhone are for sale on Ebay

current bid = $1200 !

YouTube Phone

An announcement by South Korea Electronic firm LG, says they are about to release a YouTube enabled phone in Europe by the end of this year. This will allow users to capture video directly on their phone and upload it to YouTube. They have got some kind of deal going on with Google (YouTube’s parent company) to make it all official. The thing is, the iPhone has YouTube functionality too, but from what I have heard it is limited. Well, first off the iPhone doesn’t record video, yet. This is good reason to wait for the 2nd or 3rd generation models and I am surprised that this has been omitted. Secondly, the YouTube clips accessible by the iPhone are specially transcoded for it and are few in numbers at the moment. This kind of defeats the purpose really.

Well, what with all the spotlight Apple is getting of late, what better way to pay tribute than to have a look at things to come in the future from the Cupertino based computer company.

Enjoy!

Darklight Symposium

Well, this post is a bit late but it relates to the Darklight Symposium which was held here in Dublin two weekends back. Well unfortunately I missed most of it as I was up to my eyes finishing off some work. It was a bit of a waste of the admission fee in fairness for me, as I really wanted to partake in the talk on the future of television. It was called “Television: 2.0 The Future of TV” and you can find out a bit more about it on the Darklight blog here
There is an podcast of the talk available from the blog and I just finished listening to it. It was all very interesting but I did find myself disagreeing with a lot of what most of the panel talked about as well as views from the audience. I have been immersed in this area with my own company for the past year and a half as well as with previous positions I have held. I won’t go into too much details on my opinions on the topic as they are central to my business plan and all will be revealed on that soon. One thing I will say, is that I believe that the future of audiovisual entertainment will be more creative when the power is taken away from the broadcasters. Continue reading ‘Darklight Symposium’
